Our Katahdin lambs live happy, healthy lives on our pastures. They live as naturally as possible, eating only grass (except for the occasional snack our children share with them).
We make every effort to keep our lambs healthy and stress-free, not only because they deserve it, but because it’s what makes them taste so extraordinary. Most farms load their lambs into a trailer and transport them to a slaughterhouse at harvest. This can be extremely stressful for the lamb, resulting in tough, flavorless meat. As a USDA custom exempt meat processor, we’re able to process lambs right here on the farm.
